I began today by mod-rocking over the framework that i created yesterday but this time leaving gaps to allow for my wire work to show through and with the hope of enhancing the visual of the end piece.
Whilst doing this i was careful to reinforce the edges where i was leaving a gap as to help it bind together and still follow the contours of my framework, as i wanted to showcase the warped and pitted surface that i had previously created.
I felt that this worked well as i could emphasize areas of wire work that i thought appeared the most impacting but i found it hard to balance the mod rock strips whilst i secures them properly, as they kept slipping and twisting making my process more time consuming but ultimately the result in my personal opinion outweighs the added difficulty.
So from this point i have created the left hand in whichever style i select to go forth with and will make the right following a comparison after the mod rock has set in place as it can alter the effect potentially so that is something that will be carefully considered before i make my counterpart for presenting my outcome.
In order to add more context to the work that i have been creating i created a series of sketches based around photos that i have taken that include hands since ive been on foundation, as i felt that i needed to show my depth of understanding of hands and how they've influenced the creation of the presentational elements.
From here i am intending to begin working on my other hand for presenting but firstly i shall spend some time reviewing my work and evaluating its effectiveness with some input from my peers so that i may consider a second viewpoint and opinion before continuing with my work.
