Day 52 - 2nd May - Acetate Covers

Today i spent my tie working on a cover based around my outcome for unit one, but in the context of my current project. Using the technique of tippex and sharpie(s) on acetate, my first step was therefore creating a design as to use for the multiple iterations that i will create.
Then i followed this up by creating a version using each of my 4 colours available to me, Black, Blue, Red and Green as it will give me a good idea of which works best when i get to the later stages of the creation process.

From here i incorporated a second tone being black as to try ad add depth and contrast t the pieces, as to help keep the composition clear and sharp for any observer.

When it came to the black i jumped straight to the next stage which was to add the tipex to the rear of the designs, with the aim of using it to help direct the audience around the composition and make i seem a little less 2-dimensional.
I then overlayed these onto a couple of abstract wax experiments i did as a part of a workshop run by another student earlier in the project. From these it was clear how much the tipex helped to separate the elements from their background.

So following this i decided to add some tipex to my coloured pieces to try and add emphasis to the composition and tried the same process again, noticing that the designs felt vastly more lifted from the background.
On these further experiments i felt that the blue sharpie provided the best  effect on the red experiment and again to my surprise on the blue experiment as well.

So i believe that if i decide to use this as the cover to my outcome i shall use the blue over red as the selected cover design as it held the strongest composition and caught my attention the most looking back at these.
Tomorrow the majority of my time will be spent prepping the studio to be painted on Friday along with the rest of  the student on my course, but around this i aim to gather the resources for my infinity war advert that i will aim to complete over the bank holiday weekend after starting it Friday night potentially.
